Kinetix Living hires new CEO-Steve Schickler
Steve Schickler joins Kinetix Living as a dynamic CEO with a stellar career that spans over twenty years of building successful organizations. Steve’s experience includes consumer goods, retail and SaaS. He has helped transform young companies into national leaders.
Steve was President of Seattle Coffee Company and then was a senior executive at Starbucks Coffee following Starbucks’ purchase of SCC. Steve was also a senior executive at Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream as Dreyer’s grew from a largely regional company to the largest in its national industry space. Steve has also led three other companies and he won the NASDAQ/Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his leadership of a company in Chicago. He was also CEO of a start-up company in the area of Internet Health Care Communications.
Steve began his career in packaged goods marketing at H.J. Heinz where he led two of that company’s largest business units. He has an MBA from New York University and a JD from Brooklyn Law School.

Brad Johnson, newest board member- Kinetix Living
Brad is the Chief Administrative Officer and CFO of Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI). REI is the largest consumer cooperative in the country with $1.5 billion in annual sales and 3.5 million active members. REI is also one of only five companies included as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” since it was conceived in the early 1980s.
Brad has spent over 25 years in retail working for strong brands. In addition to his experience at REI, he served as Chief Administrative Officer and CFO of Lands’ End and CFO of Cornerstone Brands and Wilsons Leather. He began his retail career with Talbots. Over the course of his career his responsibilities have included Logistics, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations, Real Estate, Investor Relations, Legal, Purchasing, Strategy and Finance.
Brad received a B.A from Utah State University and an MBA from the University of Utah where he was honored as a Deans’ Scholar. He serves on the Ahnu Footwear Board and as Treasurer of the National Forest Foundation. He serves on Advisory Boards for Utah State University and Brigham Young University.
He loves to hike, bike and just about anything else in the outdoors with his wife, Rosie, and their eight children.

About Mike Flynn
Mike grew up in Spokane and graduated from Gonzaga Prep and Gonzaga University. Mike married Betsy, whom he met in math class. They have three children and six grandchildren. Mike worked 20 years for United Press International before joining the Puget Sound Business Journal, where he retired in April of 2006 after 24 years as Publisher. Mike has moved to what he refers to as his “entrepreneurial encore” of consulting, counseling and advising businesses, business people and business organizations. His hobbies are playing the guitar and running the 100 meters in senior and masters’ track and field events. You already know about Mike’s lifetime achievements but what we admire is his commitment to the community we live in through his involvement with Junior Achievement, Seafair, Downtown Seattle Association and Washington Wine Country - to name a few.
