Lisa Sharples Joins the Board of Livemocha

Dynamo Recruiting is pleased to announce the successful recruitment of Lisa Sharples as a new board member of Livemocha. With over 4 million members, Livemocha is the world’s largest language learning community.

Lisa also serves as President of Allrecipes.com, the leading online food community with more than 10 million unique visitors per month.  She has been in this position for over 2 years.

Prior to joining Allrecipes.com, Lisa held the position of Senior Vice President of Marketing at Classmates.com, a division of United Online (UNTD).  In this capacity, she helped define Classmate.com’s business strategy for all product development, marketing, creative design, customer retention, and customer service while leading a sizeable team.  Lisa spearheaded the design and launch of many new features on the website which fueled the growth of the business. 

Prior to Classmates.com, Lisa co-founded Garden.com (GDEN) in 1995, where she served as Chief Marketing & Merchandising Officer and a member of the Board of Directors for six years.  As a leader of the online business from concept to project execution, Lisa is credited with creating the Garden.com business model and plan that encompassed content, community, merchandising and online retail.

Her other business experience includes overseeing ArtCarved, the flagship retail jewelry brand at American Achievement Corporation, from 2003 to 2005, and, earlier, working for Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems and Standish Mellon Asset Management.

Lisa holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College in Biochemistry and Photography and MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

When not at work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, photography and gardening.
